City Collage

What you need:
-
small amount of liquid glue (optional: glue stick)
-
brush, glue spreader or q-tip if using liquid glue
-
placemat
-
damp cloth
-
building clip art (located under “resources”)
-
paper to glue on
Preparation:

Print out building clip art and cut out buildings.

Set out placemat.
-
Put glue stick or a small amount of glue in a small container with brush/spreader.
-
Place buildings to glue in the tray or on the placemat.
-
Place paper on placemat, attach with painter’s tape if desired.
-
Have a damp cloth available.
Directions:
-
“Today we are going to do some collaging.”

“I dip my brush in the glue.”
-
“Watch me spread the glue on the paper.”
-
“Now I put a building on the glue.”
-
Demonstrate collaging.

“Your turn.”

Optional: add paint or draw with crayons or markers.
Notes: If you use a brush, make sure to wash with warm water and dish soap when finished.
You can tint the glue with a little bit of paint so your child can see where the glue is on the paper.
