What you need:

• 6 popsicle sticks per house

• paper

• watercolor paint

• water

• brush

• waterproof placemat or table cloth

• apron or painting clothes

• damp cloth for cleaning hands

• hot glue gun or liquid glue

 

Preparation

1. Using a hot glue gun or liquid glue, assemble a house with popsicle sticks (see photo)

Once dry:

1. Glue popsicle stick home to paper.

2. Cover a table with a waterproof placemat.

3. Put out paint, water and brush.

4. Place paper on placemat. Use painter’s tape to secure to placemat, if you like.

5. Have a damp cloth and cleaning supplies close by.

 

Directions:

1. “Today we are going to paint the house.”

2. “Here is the paint.” 

3. “Watch me paint. What color should I choose?  I will put my brush in the water and then the paint.”

4. Paint a little on the paper and sticks.

5. “Your turn.”
